"Nothing But Christ"
May 2008
1 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.3 I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
The Apostle Paul determined that his ministry was going to be characterised by one main theme. It would be wonderful if everyone that associated with our Church would say about us that our main focus is "NOTHING BUT CHRIST". At the centre of what we believe and what we do should always be, that we are followers of Jesus. He is at the heart of our doctrines that lead to faith filled actions demonstrating our connection with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
For Reflection
As I look at my life, what things are more important to me than Jesus?
What do people say about my Church and me?
Lord, help me to strengthen my connection with Jesus.
